I've never been a huge fan of Noble Court, although the food was OK, it was usually a little too greasy, and the overall feel of the place was rather ghetto. Still, we've been back a couple times. Not after our trip on last Saturday (3/10). My wife was eating a piece of bamboo shoots wrapped in tofu skin (https://www.google.com/s… for pictures if you don't know what it is) when she started choking. Turns out there was a 2.5 inch long metal wire stuck in her throat. She literally choked on it for two min before managing to gag it out. The manager barely glanced at it when we complained, took it to show the kitchen staff and then promptly tossed it away. Fortunately, we took pictures of the wire before they removed it. They made us wait for 40 min for the owner, who never showed up. At no time was there an apology forthcoming. I refused to pay for the meal, which the manager was obviously very reluctant to allow, but finally acquiesced. My wife spent most of the next couple hours getting checked out by a doctor; fortunately, other than scratches and some inflammation, there wasn't anything else.I would not wish this experience on anyone. Needless to say, I will not be patronizing this restaurant in the future.

First off I am an Asian and eat Dim Sum monthly. I've tried all available in the Bellevue and this is one of the best. on the Eastside. Solid in taste, variety, and quality. The place is much larger than the outside would hint at. The decor is a built to purpose Chinese restaurant that has seen a lot of customers in it's days. If you get a window seat they have a nice little garden instead of the mall parking lot that most have. It is probably a bit more spendy than other places in Bellevue but it shows in the food. It's similar to a real Dim Sum restaurant you'll find in China. a large efficiently busy run place that at time seems like a cafeteria, but with good food and carts of food to tempt you.

After we sat on the our chairs, we were immediately asked by the "mary-go-round" Dim Sum team what we want from the Dim Sum cart. We said that give us few minutes to breathe (reasonable think to ask, I guess). Some agitation was displayed by the "hunchback of Notre Dame" wait staff on that answer. The tea was brought without asking, and I right away said "no" to that (because, it may look like complimentary, but it's not). Then I asked one of the wait staffs about variety of dumplings and some noodle items, he spat more on our table than did the explanation. I asked him to wipe that off (gross). And yes, needless to say that he also acted like "did you just ask me to clean up my own mess?".. strange, huh!Anyway, the some of the items were cold, when asked them to give us the fresh ones, guess what? Yes, they microwaved and gave us the same. We paid and walked off, promising never to go back again.

I've been coming here regularly for dim sum for many years, which means this place should deserve at least a 4 star review, but I'm only giving it 3 stars. The problem is that Noble Court isn't trying hard enough for my business. If I have to be honest, the place is rather filthy. The carpets are dirty and dingy, the wallpaper is stained and peeling, and they should really consider washing their tablecloths. The food is still delicious, but I can't help but notice the quality and portion sizes slipping. It used to be that this place was packed with asian customers on weekends, but not so anymore. I will probably still come here every once in awhile, but they can't really blame me if I sneak over to better dim sum places like Joi's from time to time.

Amazingly enough, this place's primary clientele appear to be Americans, yet somehow, it manages to be bustling with business (for dim sum anyways). The food it self it's pretty decent for Seattle (if you're looking for Richmond or Cupertino quality... wrong state wrong country my friend). They've got a pretty good selection of stuff as well. It's substantially more run down than the newly opened Joi in Bellevue; its the kind of place you see in an old movie. However, it does have a cool attribute, a stream running behind it. You can sit with a view of the running water (and a few features, like a Chines style bridge that they put it, but are dilapidated), which I thought was pretty unique.Probably not my favorite, but not bad.

This was my first time eating dim sum so take my review with a grain of salt. Somehow Yelp's "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" for five stars seems a little over the top. I give 5 stars when I have no complaints and came away very happy. :)This was a really nice, clean restaurant and my husband and I got seats next to the big windows looking out on a little zen garden. They were very prompt with our water order and the carts started coming by immediately. The servers were a little abrupt but I've noticed this is pretty much culturally universal to Asian places and isn't a personal insult to the patrons. The food was all excellent! Everything was hot and flavorful, cooked to perfection. The steamed buns were soft and delicious, the shrimp rolls were so full of flavor and very juicy. The garlic green beans were perfectly cooked, tender with a little bite to them.Everything was so filling, we stuffed ourselves for only $20 on our total bill.

Although they had more variety than my favourite Dim Sum place in I-District, I enjoyed only two of their dishes: Shanghai Dumplings and Shrimp Dumplings. Everything else was either too oily or too just not delicious. The prices were, to our surprise, about $20/person, despite the fact that we didn't order all that much. In contrast, $10-12/person us usually the total in I-District. (Plus, the staff didn't add all the numbers correctly: always double-check.)Lastly, the waiters would always run past us with their carts, so we had to flag them to order more dishes. Going here was merely tolerable; so I doubt I'll ever return.

The place looks like it could be pretty cool when you see the building...sitting right on a nice stream adjacent to a park. The first thing we noticed when we walked in were all the dead seafood in the tanks that welcome you (along with an ammonia smell). We waited a minute for a table, and noticed the bar, so we decided to sit in there and have dinner and a cocktail. The bartender was pretty friendly and the drink was good, but once our food came out, we realized we wouldn't be coming back. There was so much grease on the noodles, I thought they accidentally brought soup instead. Nope, that's chow mein. A trip to restroom proved to be a disaster to my sense of smell. My friend order a few dimsum items, and they were over-cooked, chewy and nasty. The place was really dirty, and the loud discussion between the regulars about the recent firing of a long time bartender because of age, made us feel awkward (we're no spring chickens either!).I'll think we'll skip this place in the future.

The line is superfluously long (which is a good sign in every way). The food is unending (naturally since we were there for the dim sum). And more importantly the food kicks butt (thats a good thing). My ONLY gripe was that i noticed the fish tank full of shrimp near the entrance - they were all dead (i can only hope they were recently deceased).

My favorite dim sum restaurant, and it's great to have it be located so close to my home! I've been visiting this place for over a decade, and it's every bit as amazing as it always has been. First, I love how the location is not in the densely-packed International District, since suburban Bellevue gives a lot more space to work with. With that comes a beautiful exterior, complete with a sort of garden outside. It's remarkable how they put this all together. Inside, there is a fountain where people throw their pennies. There really aren't many restaurants in the state where so much attention is put on presentation. The food is every bit as good as you might expect from somewhere like this. During lunchtime, there are dim sum carts being pushed around everywhere. Since they will be looking for you, you do not even have to wait and they will just come to you. It's not unusual to have hot, steamy, delicious food ready on your table seconds after being seated. There is a bit of a language barrier, but pointing does wonders. In addition to ordering from the dim sum carts, you have the option of ordering stuff from the menu like at a normal restaurant (and in fact that's the only way of ordering during dinnertime when the dim sum carts are gone), but I've never had a problem with the variety of food that the dim sum offers. There is the usual stuff like shumai which I really like, plus some I don't even know the names of. All of them are impeccably made, and it's no surprise that the place gets so crowded during lunchtime.I also love the service you can get from this place. The workers are friendly and helpful from what I've noticed. They are incredibly attentive despite the sheer volume of customers, and I've had them replace my dirty plates with new ones when I was least expecting it. Once during a dinner, one of the waiters asked my dad where he worked. I asked my dad why the waiter would ask that, and he said it was to get to know us better so as to build a friendship and get us to come here more often (or maybe it's for the tips, I don't know!). Whatever the reason, I think it's great how they're willing to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the Seattle area!

I'm a dim sum regular (a few times a month) here and have been since the early 90s. I also grew up in Toronto and lived or regularly traveled for work to Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu. I eat up in Richmond when I can too.The quality of the dim sum has been inconsistent (different chefs) over the years and while the tastes are authentic, I do agree the quality of the ingredients are middle of the road. I've had much better (not so much in Seattle mind you) but it's quite enjoyable. One thing I've always counted on Noble Court for is variety. Few dim sum places in Seattle offer as wide a range of dim sum as well as more esoteric dishes. For someone who eats dim sum weekly, you need variety, and your faves. As for health code violations, just for context, look up your fave restaurant. Few have no violations and many violate the temperature requirements for storage. Having eaten in other parts of the world, I'm pretty comfortable eating at any licensed establishment. One last note, my family's theory is that the selection and quality has gotten better since Din Tai Fung opened. While DTF isn't dim sum, for me, a weekend Chinese brunch traditionalist, they are interchangeable so Noble Court must be feeling some competition which is a good thing.

An insider tip, they will give you vinegar and little dipping plates if you ask. Here are the dishes we have tried and enjoyed.Shrimp dumplings: The shrimp and cilantro dumpling is by far the best but they also have the traditional one and a spinach and shrimp dumpling.Shrimp noodle: It's a large rice noodle wrapped around shrimp, it's fairly average here.BBQ Pork Bun: They have both steamed and Baked, the steamed are a bit better but both are pretty standard.Sticky Rice: AverageChicken Feet: They actually do these really well, some of the best on the east sidePea Vines: You have to order these from the waiter and they come out in a dinner portion but they are well done and not overly greasy.Shiu Mai: Skip these hereCustard Bun: Husband loves theseFried Anchovies: Flavorless, skipPot Stickers: Skip, horrible

Since i didn't like the meat inside the wrap. The only thing is, servers are NOT happily smiling or kindly responsive, like other American restaurant, but I sort of understand/ am used to the culture, since I am orginated from Asia. The thing about rating Dim Sum restaurants is...It's either terri-bad, good, or extremely good. IE, 1 star, 4 stars, or 5 stars. In other words, if you don't meet the bar, (AKA 4 or above), then you are a 1 star place.Okay, what is dim sum? In summary, small plates of dishes meant to be shared. It's similar to Spanish tapas or Japanese izakaya (minus all the drunk business men). Small dishes means you get to order a lot of variety and try a bunch of different dishes. And since dim sum is meat heavy, it's great for hang-overs. I don't really know why, but I have a lot of anecdotal evidence of this. Now, about the establishment. I like because it is big. While a crowded small dim sum place might seem more authentic, you gotta have enough space for several dim sum carts to be wheeled around. This place is big enough that you don't feel claustrophobic. There is usually a wait, but it's never long (another bonus of being big). Service is par for a Chinese dim sum joint and the food definitely meets the minimum dim sum level of goodness. Come here are enjoy shrimp dumplings, pork and shrimp sui mai, and the fried taro dumplings. Really, it's all good, you can rarely go wrong. Come with friends, the more the merrier and the more variety. I love dim sum after a good krunkin' party.
